Grip strength--outside of doing a bunch of KB swings and hook gripping the life out of everything, is there anything useful to do? Rubber bands? Tennis balls? Those little grippy contraptions?
I would not advise doing any auxiliary work to improve grip strength (the teacher just assigned... nothing!) We do sooo much grip work in workouts- deadlifts, pull ups, swings, cleans, the list is endless- that adding any more would just be too much. Your grip will come along, the same way everything else does. Don't be nervous if grip strength is a limiting factor in some movements like the deadlift and kipping pull up- that is completely normal.
