How can I lose body fat?

Another question I have is if someone's goal is to lower their BMI, tone and strengthen, what is a recommended diet? I've heard Paleo, High Protein/Low Carb, Calorie Counting, etc but with doing WODs ideally 4-5x times a week is there a highly recommended regime to follow?

The paleo diet (eat meats and vegetable, nuts and seeds, some fruit little starch no sugar) produces amazing results in a lot of folks. Keep an eye on carb intake- we want to be eating enough to replenish the sugar stores that we need for high intensity exercise, but not so much that we are storing body fat.

Let me address two things that bug me when it comes to eating:

1. Arguing about the best way to eat has never helped a person for one fucking second. I have friends who want to tell me for hours that they have to keep bread in their diet because blah, blah, blah. Okay. You came to me because you're fat, I suggested not eating bread and now you're yelling at me. Don't eat bread for one month, then we'll talk. If whining made us lose weight everyone would be thin.

2. Pat Sherwood, a highly respected CrossFit coach and figure head tweeted the other day: "CHEAT NIGHT last night! 6 donuts, some ice cream, 1 brownie, and 1 M&M cookie. Even with a weekly cheat I'm down 4lbs in 18 days.#CrossfFit." Shut the fuck up, man. If you have committed to a diet that you have to "cheat" on, you have entered a relationship that you don't deserve to be in. Find a list of foods that allow you to perform well, look good and be happy- then stick to it.
      A. It's not that you're never going to eat a brownie for the rest of your life. Does eating a brownie make you feel good, big picture? Probably not. Is a brownie the most effective way to fuel yourself as an athlete? No. Don't eat brownies all the time then.

I eat potato chips every day, salt and vinegar, it's time you guys knew that about me.
