How did Randy go yesterday? I taught the Black Box WOD on Sunday, those folks Randy'd it up and did a really great job. One young man decided to go RX'ed even though the weight was a little heavy for him. He was the last one in class working, still going at it at about 9 minutes. I was standing nearby- yelling, clapping and encouraging- as was the rest of the class, but he wasn't having it. In his mind he had already decided how hard he was going to work, and no amount of community support was going to get him any further. That is a very shitty attitude to enter a WOD with, it's a shitty way to lead life, really (not to say that this young man does that.) If you always only do what you think you're capable of doing, your results will always be the same. You'll be the same Kyle or Jessica or Roger that you were yesterday, and nothing more. With 6 reps left, the young man stopped to get a drink of water. Don't live to be comfortable, live for the challenge.
Watch this Ted Talks on being more than you should be, moved me to tears yesterday.
