Today's thoughts aren't about training, instead I would like to talk about productivity. I am addicted to to-do lists. To the point that, when I'm sitting in front of my computer and I need to use the restroom, I will write "Use the restroom" on my to-do list, just to have the satisfactory feeling of an empty bladder and checking something off the do-er. Everybody knows to-do lists and a lot of people use them, so what I really want to share about is the wonders of an empty inbox. Every time you read an email, ask your self, "Is there an immediate action step I need to take?" If the answer is yes, leave the email in your inbox and don't get rid of it until you have taken care of your task. If the answer is no, delete it or put it in a folder just in case you need to reference it again (chances are you will never see it again, no matter how important it seemed at first glance.) When your inbox is empty, it makes sleepy at night much easier. And sleep is important for optimum athletic performance :)
All right, Coach, thanks for the tip. Now get back to talking about muscles and sweating.
